Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026. This Policy describes how playclublounge.org ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit the Site.
Data controller
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) as tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller is the operator of playclublounge.org. Contact details appear at the end of this Policy.
Data we may collect
- Technical data such as browser type, device category, approximate region derived from IP, and pages viewed.
- Interaction data relating to cookie choices and age-gate confirmation stored locally in your browser.
- If you email us, the content of your message and your email address.
Sources of data
We obtain data directly from you when you send email or adjust preference controls on the Site. Technical data is generated automatically through hosting, content delivery, and security systems that process browser requests. We do not buy marketing lists and we do not seek to identify you across unrelated websites for profiling beyond what is described here.
Purposes and lawful bases
We process data to run and secure the Site, understand aggregate traffic patterns, meet legal obligations, and answer enquiries. Where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you, we rely on that basis. Where we have a legitimate interest not overridden by your rights — such as protecting infrastructure and measuring aggregate performance — we rely on legitimate interests. Where we were to process special categories of personal data (which we generally do not intend to collect), we would rely on a specific lawful basis. Where consent is required for optional technologies, we obtain it through the cookie banner and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
Cookies and similar technologies
Strictly necessary cookies may be used where required for basic functionality. Additional cookies are deployed only in line with your cookie preference. See the Cookie Policy for categories, retention, and controls. Similar technologies include local storage keys that remember age-gate and cookie preference state so we do not repeatedly prompt you during or across sessions where permitted.
Retention
Server logs and analytics aggregates are kept only as long as needed for security and reporting, then deleted or anonymised per our internal schedules. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to resolve your query and maintain a record of our relationship, unless a longer period is required by law.
Sharing and processors
Service providers host the Site, route traffic, detect abuse, and deliver email on our behalf. Processors act on our instructions and must implement appropriate technical and organisational measures. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or a competent regulatory authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or us, where permitted by law.
International transfers
If processors are located outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with a UK Addendum, or adequacy regulations where applicable. You may request a summary of relevant safeguards by contacting us.
Security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. No internet transmission method is completely secure; use up-to-date browsers and device protections.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Depending on circumstances you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe processing infringes applicable law. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.
How to exercise your rights (including opt-out, withdrawal of consent, and deletion requests):
- Email request: Send your request to info@playclublounge.org with the subject line "Privacy Request - Data Deletion/Opt-Out". Specify the right you wish to exercise (e.g., access, deletion, withdrawal of consent, opt-out of marketing) and include enough information for us to identify the data concerned (such as the email address or identifier you used).
- Cookies and tracking opt-out: You can withdraw or change cookie consent at any time by clearing browser cookies for this Site and reloading to re-display the consent banner, or by adjusting browser settings to block or delete cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Marketing opt-out: If you receive marketing communications from us, opt out via the "unsubscribe" link in the message, or email info@playclublounge.org with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
- Response time: We will respond to verified requests within one month, as required by the UK GDPR. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.
Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means in relation to personal data collected through this Site.
Children
The Site is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, a more prominent notice on the Site.
